Vatican Chamber of Trade Advocates for Ethical AI and Sustainable Technology Development in 2024

Vatican City, September 13, 2023 – In a groundbreaking move reflecting the Catholic Church's commitment to addressing modern challenges, the newly established Vatican Chamber of Trade has announced its advocacy for the ethical development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainable technology. This initiative aligns with Pope Francis' continued emphasis on the moral and ethical implications of technology in the modern world.

As the world grapples with the rapid advancement of AI, the Vatican Chamber of Trade is urging global businesses and governments to prioritize human dignity, ethical standards, and environmental sustainability in all technological innovations. The Chamber is advocating for the creation of international guidelines that ensure AI and emerging technologies serve the common good, rather than exacerbate inequality or harm the environment.
